Higher education facilities

This development will preserve and celebrate Calcutta House, creating a state of the art higher education facility.

The architect’s plans have focussed on retaining the building’s character. We will celebrate the distinctive brickwork, window patterns, and its proud industrial heritage. Then we will work to sensitively to add in what is needed to create an amazing place to study and learn. This will include new lecture facilities and a roof terrace at the top of the building.

This is a restoration-led project that will invest significantly in securing the building's future for another century.

Making a difference for local people

At Trilogy we understand that buildings are part of a complex web of connections in their locality. Buildings impact - and are impacted by -the communities in which they are based. When managing a project we aim to ensure that the development helps to the wider community thrive. We aim to foster tolerant, vibrant, healthy, enterprising and resilient communities.

Education can be a transformative force in society. As part of the Whitechapel Campus development, we want to make sure that local people can benefit from the education that will happen here. That’s why we will create a dedicated base for a local education charity here and work to ensure local groups can access classrooms and lecture halls after hours.
